Sunny in Sacramento

I arrived in Sacramento last night and am heading west towards Fairfield today. The weather is good and I'm about 160 kms from San Francisco and have no more mountains to climb but just a lot of traffiic to watch out for.
My bike is suffering again, I think that it's done pretty well so far, despite the minor problems,now I have to look at my cogs, chain and pedals , so I'll probably be leaving about lunchtime.
I'll see if I can take some urban pictures today!!

Somehow I seem to be savouring these last few days on the road,although this has been a more than satisfying trip so far,I've slowed down considerably,my breaks are longer,I get up later and some of these Californian Cafes suit me fine...coffee with honey in it!
I arrived in Placerville yesterday evening after having changed my 5th back tyre 10 kms out of town,it wasn't the best of times standing on the highway with alot of traffic passing ,it was the evening rush hour, anyway I arrived safely.
Since Carson city it feels that I'm back in civilisation again,no real need to store up with water and food,there's alot more traffic ,I lock my bike up again and it's nearly all down hill from now on.I'll be in San Francisco on friday with a bit of luck!

I'M NO LONGER CALIFORNIA DREAMING!

I crossed over the Californian state border yesterday afternoon at Lake Tahoe,I'm still on route 50,while the others took another route, they seemed to be a little more eager to get to San Fran, while I,not only suffering from a hangover and interesting debut out at the casino in Carson city the night before, cycled slowly and soothed my head with water and smoothies, I did only 50 kms and hopefully will meet up with Daniel and Greg in a few days time.It was a very inspiring week and half with those two and was exactly what I wanted to do in this period, it was good fun.Cheers to Daniel and Greg!!
Today I'm on my way to Placerville but I've got a mountain to climb before I get really going!
